I finally got a snub nosed trout! I have been wanting to see one of these in person for years, and finally one to my hand! I realize that they are so cute because they look like turtles...others think i am crazy because they think they got snub nosed from people hooking them or dropping them on their face??? maybe someone knows the answer...in the meantime, I think they are pretty darn cute.
...and I have found lots of treasures on the riverbank, hooks, beads, trash, tippet, split shot, but today was a first as I came upon actual cash- five bucks! which doesn't even get you a beer in King Salmon, AK, but it is that much closer...
also been floating rivers in either the kayak or small raft...

I felt so at home back in a raft and floating the river, kind of nostalgic feeling...started to get excited about winter steelheading and all the glorious floats I love to do...the peace, the quiet....more in tune with the ways of the river, flowing with the current... as opposed to the roar of the horsepower motor-running up and down the river in a battle or all out war on fish...I definitely love floating better...and you can't beat this smile:
We have been matching the hatch here....
