Rogue Angel Whitney Gould will be heading east on June 20 for Spey Nation II, in Altmar, New York. Held on the Salmon River, Spey Nation is a gathering of casters, anglers and manufacturers coming together to share information, knowledge and their love for fish. Whitney had a great time at the event last year, and she's looking forward to seeing some old friends, and meeting new ones among the east coast spey contingent.
Whitney will be teaching a class this year with Nate Koenigsknecht of CF Burkheimer Fly Rods, and there are still spots available for anyone interested in signing up. It will be a three hour course on spey casting basics, with the goal of introducing people brand new to the two-hander, or reinforcing good technique for people with limited spey experience. The single spey, double spey, snap-t and perry poke will be covered, as well as some information on how to choose and use the right gear for the situation. The class will cost 125 per person, and participants will be given a 20% discount on the purchase of any CF Burkheimer rod.
