Smash You

I've got smashed bugs on my face, all over my rain jacket and I counted fifteen bites on my right hand....they keep coming. One just crawled down my neck and the welt will spring up in the next twenty four hours. It will match the fourteen other welts dotting my skin from my forehead down to my toes. I wish it would rain...fishing for kings is better under the cloudy skies anyway, but as of late I've spent infrequent time in a boat searching for those massive chromers. Sockeye are running in the river and trickling into trout streams. Any day I suspect voracious trout will graciously emerge amongst them in larger numbers....and I'll be walking through the water looking at life through vermillion colored glasses.

  1. Nice to hear a lady with the fever! Great post.

Hard to imagine the Nushagak closed to sport fishing after the excessive blood-baths exacted over the last ten years. I guess even the legendary Bristol Bay has it's ups and downs.
