24 Hour Fish-a-thon Final Results!

Posted by Picasa
The results are in! From Recycled Fish:

Over $17,500 raised. Over 13,000 pieces of trash out of our waters. Something like 2,000 fish caught and released (photographic evidence of 1250). The biggest bass, trout and catfish in the history of the event. An estimated 26,000 grassroots connections and over a quarter million media impressions for our waters. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Team Bear Trail landed the number one fundraising team and they are sending us to the Mississippi Delta with Griffin Fishing Charters to chase redfish and speckled trout!  While standing waist deep in the Naknek today I dreamed of redfish and luckily my clients have plenty of experience with these beasts.  I soaked up their free flowing knowledge and I'm looking forward to sight fishing for redfish!  And I wouldn't be heading there if it were not for all the support and encouragement of all of you!  Thank you for helping us rock this year's fish-a-thon. Team Bear Trail raised more this year than the entire 2010 Fish-a-thon and fifty percent will be going straight to Bristol Bay's campaign to prevent Pebble Mine.

We surpassed our goal of $5000!!!!
I'm so proud of my team, my lodge, my friends and family, and all the people who have raised their voice to help prevent the Pebble Mine by donating, volunteering, and encouraging.  I deeply thank you.  Thank you Sam Snyder for inspiring us to participate-your optimism is refreshing.

A very special thanks to the 24 Hour Fish-a-Thon Volunteer Team: Andre, Arron, Buddy, Ben, LeAnn, Alex, Craig & Teeg: your hardwork and efforts are much appreciated.  Thank you for being so fantastic!
And thank you to all the teams who participated in this year's fish-a-thon, I'm looking forward to next year already!  Thanks to all the sponsors for this year's fish-a-thon, your generosity is much appreciated:
