Today is May 1 although I’m still stuck in April. It has thirty days ya know. And I spent her last evening drinking and her last hour in Vagos bar. I hear it thumping from our place on the beach every weekend, yet I find myself there on a Monday. I’d not make a great college student.
Ran into the blind man with the barking dog from two years back. Turns out, he’s the only not-actually blind old guy down here that’s interesting to talk to, besides the fish painter. But of course I like him; he takes fish, uses them to make art, and ends their physical existence served Mexican sashimi.
Old Man Mr. Love (swear to gawd), sat next to him, the look in his eye as if he was seeing a ghost. I'm no longer Pac Northwest white people, I got color. Then he asked me, "did I get an email from him? I just sent one no sooner than six hours ago"! And it nearly knocked him out of his tap dancing shoes to see me in person before we talked via E-mail. Turns out, it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, sometimes not being linked in surprises folks.
But then again, the not so blind man but intriguing in most conversation asked me to remind him of the site online where people talk and look at pictures. "Facebook?" Oh yeah, that’s it. Seems he plays a bit of online Texas Hold’Em and then some “Shoot Out.” I zoned out when he explained it all, watching Rocky the dog walk through the bar searching for scraps and spilled booze. It was a bit early and two days late for those treats.
Old Man Mr. Love asked how the guitar he lent me was playing. Yeah, here you can post an ad to borrow a guitar and someone will actually let you have it without relinquishing anything of value. Good thing, because I wouldn't have traded a fly rod.
While cruising through town this morning (without value), I relished riding four wheelers through town as normal. The only other place I know like this is over 3000 miles due north and not nearly as warm. But I’ll be there sooner than I know it....
In the meantime, we’re catching roosters when the stars align:
k8 releasing a grande.
Kada's first rooster with Chad left her all smiles.
Kada steals a kiss before letting this rooster swim again.
Orsi reaches to land a nice rooster.
Mosceros get 'er D.
Not all who wander are lost.
