Closer to the Ground.

If you've ever flipped through Fly Fish Journal and laughed while reading an article, it was likely Dylan Tomine writing.  If your soul felt a twinge of nostalgia and shook it's fist in the air reading about the decline of steelhead populations in the Pacific Northwest, those were Dylan's words.

In his first book, Closer to the Ground, Dylan shares his love of nature with his family through fishing, clamming, mushroom hunting, and berry picking.  Together they explore the bounty of the Northwest and while often beautifully touching, Dylan serves up sentiment with enough laughter to make you smile often.  One of the most captivating books I've read in a long time.
